Application developer. Rate: 450/Day
Overall Responsibilities:
• Design and Develop applications, interfaces and reports based on business and technical specifications provided by IT Business Analyst or other developers.
• Designing systems and prepare technical spec for various applications and interfaces.
• Thoroughly test all applications & related software developed, prior to releasing to QA Test Phase.
• Work closely with IT business analysts to understand business and provide the best solution for user community.
• Work with database administrators to supplemental tables in the Commodities database for use by Interfaces and Reports.
• Maintain existing Commodities related applications, interfaces and reports.
• Providing support to the Business and Quality Assurance groups related to various IT specific projects and tasks.
• Work with other IT staff during the various phase of the development life cycle.
• The candidate will be expected to deliver on key business initiatives.
Functional Responsibilities:
• Write Technical specifications.
• Strong experience in design and architecture of applications.
• Experience of multi-regional team-working (eg working in US, while supporting users/developers who are based in Europe and Asia)
• Able to develop applications, interfaces and reports from the technical specifications.
• Prepare technical code and support documentation for the delivered application components.
• Mentor / cross-train other team members
• Adhere to set coding standards, procedures and techniques.
• Work with other IT groups to configure, implement and support production.
• Involved in full software development lifecycle project (SDLC) activities
• Gain understanding of Credit Suisse’s Commodities trading business
• Work effectively with team member in other locations situated globally.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
• Strong AVS and Endur related skill set required.
• Willingness and ability to learn and work on AVS scripting language.
• Strong SQL skills with excellent skills in PL/SQL programming. Having good experience in Oracle database.
• Posses background in Object Oriented design and development.
• Strong experience in Endur based solutions.
• Good Experience in scripting with AVS and working with well-defined AVS architecture.
• Good experience in design, development and deployment of applications in enterprise platforms.
• Sound knowledge in various messaging technologies like JMS and TIBCO EMS and the Connex API.
• Good working knowledge in XML.
Desired Skills:
• Experience performing source code control using CVS, SVN and related tools.
• Strong development experience in UNIX platform and Windows server environments.
• Experience with Java and J2EE skills is desired.
• Exposure to C++ and .NET related technologies are a plus.
Personal Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in dealing within IT and with providing support to end users.
• Must be a self-starter and be able to operate collaboratively with team members situated globally.
• Highly analytical, pro-active and detail oriented.
• Demonstrates professional development.
• Able to manage work between local manager and strategic project leads in remote locations.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Ability to takes ownership for a deliverable (from start to finish) and drive it to completion.
• Manage multiple tasks and projects at the same time, and reach goals despite challenges and obstacles.
Essential:
3+ years developer experience
2+ years experience as an AVS developer
Good experience in design, development and deployment of applications in enterprise platforms.
Desirable Skills:
- Fixed Income Derivatives Trading or Financial Services Experience a plus |
